This test allows assessment of cerebral-vascular regulation, which is affected by metabolic brain activity (MBA). In this process, reactions of the flow velocity to visual, cognitive, and other stimuli acting on the brain are examined.
This functional test can be used as an alternative to the CO2 reactivity test and the autoregulation test.
Applications of the evoke flow test include:
- Neuro-regulations
- Exact determination in the case of suspected autoregulation disorders,
- e.g. due to the occlusion of the proximal, basilar, vertebral, or cerebral arteries
- Pre-operative functional tests
